NMRIH2 Roadmap: Beyond Armageddon, 1.0.4.0 & 2026 Plan
No More Room in Hell 2 post-launch roadmap: September and October update plans, the 1.0.4.0 hotfix, the 2x XP weekend, and the 3-Merit compensation.
No More Room in Hell 2 launched Armageddon (1.0) on August 10, 2026. The developer has since shared a post-launch roadmap (the Beyond Armageddon dev blog, August 21), shipped hotfix 1.0.4.0 (August 25), and started a 2x Responder XP weekend (August 28–31). This page collects the official facts and keeps them separate from speculation.
Last verified: August 28, 2026. Everything below comes from the developer’s official announcements; future release dates are the developer’s stated plans, not confirmed launches.
The official 2026 roadmap (Beyond Armageddon, Aug 21)
The developer confirmed multiple updates planned for 2026, two of which are slated for Autumn — with eyes already on 2027. The stated focus areas:
- September update: deepen existing content —
- New objective permutations for Lewiston (additional ways the objective flow can play out).
- A brand-new scenario for Pottsville — a new objective flow that “completely turns the map on its head.”
- New weapon attachments, from muzzle modifications to laser sights.
- Controller work: deadzone improvements and UI menu navigation updates (their stated goal: consistent experience across platforms, input methods, and skill levels).
- October update: more gameplay items that “slowly offer more choices during player’s runs without overwhelming new Responders or invalidating past builds.”
- After that: subtitles for accessibility/QoL (feature already under investigation), and 1.1 was being planned well before launch (further details not yet shared).
- Community context: over 1,000,000 players have played NMRIH2 since Early Access; 500,000 of those since 1.0 on PC and consoles.
Hotfix 1.0.4.0 (August 25) — what it changed
Largest hotfix since launch. Highlights:
- Asia routing fix: players in certain regions (e.g. continental Asia) were not routed to the correct server by proximity — fixed.
- Responder death on disconnect that should have been forgiven — fixed.
- “Server is full” error when entering a match — fixed.
- Broadway tracks: players could get stuck unable to climb out near the end of Broadway — fixed.
- Guiding Light achievement now awards on completing Lighthouse.
- Max sensitivity ceiling raised from 2 to 6 (mouse and controller options).
- Respawn: Survival now has a final respawn at the end of Wave 3 and at the start of extraction; Objective gets one before extraction in the next update.
- Many loadout/UI/customization fixes (preview items equipping, single item in multiple slots, weekly assignment notification crashing controller input, blocked players muted, etc.).
- Multiple gun spread balance tweaks (Gruber 922, Gruber MKVII, Gruber Ranch, Hunter85, M7, M14, M1911, M9A1, MC15, Model 13, MP5, Rochester 1873, and more — all reductions to initial/max spread, several with trade-offs on spread-per-shot).
2x Responder XP Weekend (Aug 28–31)
Double Responder XP across all modes and difficulties from the posted time until August 31, 12pm EDT. An active event, not a permanent change.
Community compensation: 3 Merits
The developer said they would distribute 3 Merits to every player who has played NMRIH2, automatically added at next login. The stated window ended August 24, 2026 at 12:00 EDT — players who logged in within the window received them. If you are looking for a log-in window after that date, it has closed per the announcement.
What is still not confirmed
- Exact September / October release dates (only seasons were stated).
- Full attachment list and their effects.
- What 1.1 actually contains (only “planned well before launch” was said).
- Whether the XP weekend is one-off or recurring.
